02Hazard identification
Classification (29 CFR 1910.1200 / GHS): No data are available on which to classify this material, and no hazard classification has been assigned to it. The absence of a classification reflects the absence of data, not evidence of safety.
Label elements: No GHS pictogram, signal word or hazard statement is assigned. The container is labeled “For laboratory research use only. Not for human or veterinary use.”
Hazards not otherwise classified: Fine lyophilized powder may be dispersed if the vial is opened carelessly; avoid generating dust. The biological activity of this material in living systems has not been characterized for the purpose of this sheet and must be assumed unknown. Treat as a substance of unknown toxicity and handle with the precautions in Sections 7 and 8.
03Composition / information on ingredients
- Substance / mixture
- Mixture of 4 synthetic peptides, identified below
- Chemical name
- KLOW
- Purity
- ≥ 99% by HPLC (peptide content stated on the lot certificate)
- Other components
- May contain residual trifluoroacetate or acetate counter-ion and residual water from lyophilization, as reported on the lot certificate of analysis.
Components. The vial contains the peptides below, co-lyophilized. The blend has no CAS number of its own; each component is identified separately. Milligrams are nominal per vial, as stated on the label and the lot certificate.
| Component | CAS number | Molecular formula | mg / vial | % w/w |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| GHK-Cu | 89030-95-5 | C14H22CuN6O4 | 50 | 62.5% |
| BPC-157 | 137525-51-0 | C62H98N16O22 | 10 | 12.5% |
| TB-500 | Under review | — | 10 | 12.5% |
| KPV | 67727-97-3 | — | 10 | 12.5% |
Component identity under review. TB-500: The recorded identity for this product is full-length Thymosin Beta-4, while the certificate for the current lot reports a TB4 fragment (17-23). These are different substances. We are not publishing a CAS number, formula, molecular weight or sequence for this product until the supplier and laboratory records settle which it is.
04First-aid measures
Inhalation: Move to fresh air. If breathing is difficult or symptoms persist, seek medical attention.
Skin contact: Wash with plenty of soap and water. Remove contaminated clothing. Seek medical attention if irritation develops or persists.
Eye contact: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes, removing contact lenses if present and easy to do. Seek medical attention if irritation persists.
Ingestion: Rinse mouth. Do not induce vomiting. Seek medical attention.
Most important symptoms and effects: None known; no data available. Note to physician: Treat symptomatically. The material is a synthetic peptide of uncharacterized toxicity.
05Fire-fighting measures
Suitable extinguishing media: Water spray, carbon dioxide, dry chemical or alcohol-resistant foam. Unsuitable: None known.
Specific hazards: Not flammable as supplied. Combustion of organic material may produce carbon oxides and nitrogen oxides.
Advice for firefighters: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and full protective clothing as for any laboratory chemical fire.
06Accidental release measures
Personal precautions: Wear the protective equipment in Section 8. Avoid dust formation; do not breathe dust. Ensure adequate ventilation.
Environmental precautions: Do not let the product enter drains.
Containment and clean-up: Sweep up or wipe up with a damp cloth without creating dust, place in a closed container for disposal, and wash the area with water. Dispose according to Section 13.
07Handling and storage
Handling: Handle in a laboratory by trained personnel only. Open the vial carefully; avoid dust formation. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Do not eat, drink or smoke where the material is handled. Wash hands after handling.
Storage: Lyophilized: store at -20 °C, protected from light. Stable at ambient temperature during transit.
Incompatibilities: Strong oxidizing agents, strong acids and strong bases.
08Exposure controls / personal protection
Occupational exposure limits: None established for this material.
Engineering controls: Handle in a well-ventilated laboratory; use a fume hood or ventilated enclosure when handling the powder.
Personal protective equipment: Safety glasses with side shields (EN 166 / ANSI Z87.1); nitrile gloves inspected before use; laboratory coat. Respiratory protection is not normally required with adequate ventilation; use a particulate respirator if dust cannot be controlled.
